In Encouragement

Hello Hope: You are not Alone

Let me start this out by saying that you are not alone. What we sometimes feel to be so is joyfully not the reality, but I’ve definitely been there. It’s hard to feel like you are the only one in your circle of friends who is not leading a “normal” life. Maybe you see parking garage attendants at the doctor’s office more than the carpool line at school. Or maybe you know more medical acronyms than you care to or the ingredient list of every brand on the chip aisle at the grocery store. Perhaps you aren’t dealing with medical adversity, but you spend your days burdened by the needs of those around you and a desire to serve.

One of the lies that the enemy leads us to believe is that we are alone. That no one else can understand. Our hope is that in this online space you will find community, resources, and hope for the journey. There is an army of other parents, family members and friends who are linking arms with you as you bravely support the children in your life and love them through the road of medical adversity. It doesn’t have to be done alone or with fear. Our desire is to equip you and those around you with tools to face this battle with hope.

The greatest hope that carries us is the truth that we don’t have to do it alone. In the moments when the voices of friends and family may get quiet, or on the days that your friends and family feel far away, know that there is One who will never leave your side. He hems you in behind and before. He is God with us. His hands and His feet have walked through pain and felt the weight of crushing news. He knows. He calls you friend and lives to intercede for you. Draw near to His unending wells of grace to help in your time of need. He will never leave you or forsake you.

Take heart, you are not alone.
