Giveaway: Audrey Bunny Children’s Book by Angie Smith, Illustrated by Breezy Brookshire
I recently heard Sally Lloyd Jones speak on a podcast about how her book, The Jesus Storybook Bible, has resonated so deeply with adults as well as children. She shared a quote from C.S. Lewis that I had never heard before but absolutely loved: “A children's story that can only be enjoyed by children is not a good children's story in the slightest.” Isn’t that fantastic? She went on to describe the best children’s books as those that make children laugh and adults cry.
For our spring giveaway, we are so excited to share with you a book that does just that: Audrey Bunny by Angie Smith, a story inspired by the life of their daughter, Audrey. Audrey Bunny is a story of a bunny who worries she is not worthy of love because she has a dark smudge over her heart and the unconditional love of a little girl who chooses Audrey Bunny, not in spite of but because of, the way she was made. This is one of our girls’ favorite books, and we love to read it to them. The message of love and beauty found in brokenness rings true to our core values: you are not alone, your story matters, and a diagnosis isn’t everything. The words and the illustrations paired together make this children’s book a must-have for any family library.
Because we adore this book so much, we are going to give away 1 copy to someone in our community!
