Holidays are a beautiful time, and they can also carry a wave of emotion. When you’re walking through a medical journey families often face new challenges around the holidays. We’re offering this prayer for your holidays and for the Lord to be present with you.

A PRAYER FOR THE HOLIDAYS

Lord Jesus, we come before you and thank you for every person that is a part of our community. Regardless of their circumstance, each person is known by you, and we lift them up to you today.

For those struggling to find answers and to figure out what’s going on with their child, we ask that you would fill their hearts and their homes with your peace. Break through in wisdom. Guide their steps and give their doctors knowledge and wisdom and understanding. Help their medical team to see the whole picture of their child’s symptoms and discover the right diagnosis and the path forward.

For those who have a diagnosis and are wrestling with the day in and day out of what life looks like, we ask for your grace and strength to sustain them in the difficult days. Bring sweet moments into the hard days. Would you show your fingerprints and signs of your faithfulness and goodness? Encourage them, Lord.

For those who are new to medical hardship and for those who may be experiencing a hospital stay over the holidays, we ask for an extra measure of your Emmanuel, God with us, presence to go with them. Help them to know they are not alone and give them a sense of home, even while they’re away.

For the parents who are going through a holiday season without their child, we ask again for You to wrap your arms around them. Be the God of comfort and show them glimpses of your goodness.

Thank you for all of the beauty and joy and wonder of the holidays. We know the beauty comes from you because you sent your son here to earth humbly to serve us, to love us, and ultimately to give His life for us. Thank you for loving us so deeply with all of Your heart. We ask that you would stir in our hearts and work in our hearts to know the depths of your love, and out of that love to pour out to all around us. Thank you Jesus. In your name, Amen.
