Prayer for Perseverance

We know that many families in this community face long, difficult seasons. There are days when we get through simply by prayer and perseverance. If you’re in one of those seasons, this is our prayer for perseverance for you.

A PRAYER FOR PERSEVERANCE

Father God, you are good and you desire good things for your children. Especially in the midst of medical challenges, the world wants me to believe that You aren’t good and that You aren’t in control. I ask You to open my heart and mind to the truth of Your character, the comfort of Your presence, and the promise of Your salvation. Help me to lean on You for everything I need today.

When I’m tempted to question Your love, please remind me of the forgiveness of the cross. When I’m tempted to question Your goodness, please remind me of the eternal life You give. When I’m tempted to question Your presence, please remind me of Jesus’ life on earth and the promise of your Spirit living in me.

Lord, help me to remember that You are my defender and that no matter what comes my way that You are by my side. I know that all things work for my good and Your glory, so I ask that you would help me to persevere in joy and hope. Lift my countenance by the truth of who You are.

You love me.

You are my salvation.

You are my defense.

You are my healer.

Your arm is strong to save.

You have adopted me as Your child.

When You are for me, no one can stand against me.

When my circumstances are overwhelming, make me steadfast for You and give me the boldness to believe in your goodness. Use my circumstance to bless Your name and shine the light of Your hope. I love you, Abba!
