A Prayer for Guidance

The number of decisions we make on a day-to-day basis can be overwhelming. It’s in those times that we are praying for guidance from God to give you the wisdom and peace you need. Here is our prayer for you today.

A PRAYER FOR GUIDANCE

Lord of all wisdom and peace, we need You more than ever. Jesus, You were, You are, and You always will be, and all things hold together in You. We know that we can fully trust You with our lives. Even so, strengthen our faith in You and our sensitivity and obedience to Your leading.

We ask You for the grace and wisdom to make the decisions we need to on a daily basis. Though we are asked to make countless decisions, we know that there is nowhere we can go from Your presence, that there is nothing that can separate us from Your love, and that You promise to lead and guide our steps. Although our situations sometimes seem chaotic, we know that You are a God of order, and You work out the intricate details of our lives. As we go through each day, bring the truth of Your word to our minds and help us to apply Your wisdom to our smallest decisions.

When it comes to critical treatment decisions, we need Your light on our path and Your voice to guide us. We need Your peace to calm our hearts and give us clarity on the best decisions for our children and our family. Though the paths set out in front of us can be overwhelming, You again promise to be with us. We ask for soft hearts to sense Your leading, for open ears to hear Your voice, for clear minds to comprehend Your words, and for the strength to walk in truth and obedience.

Once our decisions are made, help us to walk in both humility and confidence, not doubting or second-guessing. In those times, we ask for Your covering of grace and peace to protect us, and for Your presence to comfort us.

Finally, as we pray for guidance, lead us to You. Make our hearts’ deepest desire to find You above everything. For our children, we ask that You would guide them to find their faith, joy, and strength in You. Lead them to Your glorious face and let them trust You for the wisdom and guidance they need as well.

We love You, Lord Jesus, and we are thankful for Your presence and truth. Amen!
