Prayer for a New Year

We are standing in hope with you for a new year. May the Lord meet you and fill you and your family with his peace and grace. This is our prayer for the new year as we think about each of you.

A PRAYER FOR A NEW YEAR

Father God, You bring new life and create beauty, and we ask for You to do just that in our hearts and minds and lives today. As we embark on the new year, fill our hearts and souls with the new life that You give those who ask.

In areas that feel bleak or worn out, put a new song in our mouth.

In areas that feel cold or lifeless, remove our heart of stone and give us a heart of flesh. Place Your Spirit in us. Soften our spirit to see Your beauty and goodness.

In areas that feel painful or hopeless, point us to the new life in heaven where you will wipe away every tear. Where death will no longer exist; where grief, crying, and pain will exist no longer. Where you will make everything new.

Give us Your living water from the spring of life to carry us into this new year. Fill us with Your life. Give us everything we need to walk through the year ahead. We know that every spiritual blessing is ours in You. Thoroughly equip us for every good work that You have prepared for us. Give us your wisdom, guide our steps, knit our heart to Yours.

Thank you for your life and the new things you will do in the year ahead.
