With the noise, decisions, and distraction of each day, a little quiet in our mind and soul can go a long way in ushering in hope. Today, we offer this prayer for quiet as you go throughout your day.

A PRAYER FOR QUIET

Heavenly Father, you know the situations this community is facing today. From doctor visits and hospital stays to therapy and daily routines, life is full of activity and noise. And even though we know you’re with us, the din around us makes it hard to focus on your goodness and your presence.

So many voices, decisions, and sounds inundate parents in the helloHOPE community, and today, I pray for quiet.

I ask for quiet in their hearts so they can hear the whispers of your voice and recognize your presence with them.

I ask for quiet in their souls so they can meet with you.

I ask for quiet in their minds so they can process decisions they need to make without a whirlwind of distractions.

I ask for quiet in their homes so your peace can be felt.

I ask for quiet in their hospital rooms so needed rest can come.

I ask for quiet in their car rides so they can process the events of the day and see your hand at work.

Please give each member of our community a moment of quiet today. Give ears to hear your voice. To hear your wisdom and to feel your loving embrace. Let each one run to you and find a strong tower and needed shelter in you.

You are our Good Shepherd, Jesus, and you have promised to never leave our side –– even when life is deafening. You’ve experienced the noise of the world first hand, and you know how much we need moments of quiet. Please let your Spirit move today in us so we can find our peace and hope in you. Thank you for your faithfulness and your unfailing love. We love you. Amen.
